Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival

During the weekends, if you don't see me out on the basketball court, or hanging out with my girlfriend, family or friends... you would most likely find me on the water at the beach. For the past two years, I've had the pleasure of being part of a Dragon Boat team and I have been paddling since. We practice hard every weekend... and this year, it finally paid off. The Dragon Boat festival was held on July 26th & 27th at Marina Stadium near Mother's Beach in Long Beach, California. It had been an incredible season thus far for this young (Nagas) team. We were able to capture the silver medal by coming in second place. Here are a few pictures from the event. I also uploaded a >>slideshow<<. Enjoy!

First Shoot

On July 19th, Mikal gave me the opportunity to join him on a shoot for a family he knew. It was a great experience for me and I was able to learn a few things here and there. Thanks Mikal for letting me tag along!

Camera Anticipation

I first got my camera on July 7th, 2008. I had ordered it online and was anxiously waiting for its arrival. Finally, it came! It arrived right before I was taking off for Disneyland, and I wanted to take full advantage of the picture opportunities.

It didn't take me too long to adjust, and was able to steal a couple of shots at a family picnic the following day:

Photography had always been an interest of mine for many years now, but I never had the opportunity to look into it in detail. About a year ago, Mikal , a good friend of mine, started doing photography- specializing in weddings, family portraits and even glamour shots. From his work, and the support from my girlfriend, Thyda, it inspired me to pick up a camera and start shooting... while learning the "Tricks of the Trait". Photography allows me to actually share my vision, creativity and imagination. I hope to have my site up and running, as I am looking forward to Sharing Imagination and Memories (S.I.M.) with the rest of the world...
